Dr Margot McCarthy will speak about the evolving role of the National Security Community.

Dr McCarthy was appointed as the National Security Adviser on 3 February 2012.

The National Security Adviser provides a high level of leadership, direction and coordination to the National Security Community, as well as leading PM&C’s National Security and International Policy Group as an Associate Secretary.

The National Security Adviser is the principal source of advice to the Prime Minister and the Secretary of PM&C on all policy matters relating to the security of the nation, and oversees the implementation of all national security policy.
